In your meeting, discuss the talking points below
Win the hour means to be present, in the moment, focused on what you are doing right now and make the most of it. Don’t worry about what last hour was , or about what is coming up, make the most of the current moment and do so with your eyes up in optimism.
Being an athlete means you have the opportunities to compete with your teammates and to represent your school and community. What an awesome honor that is. As a member of Especially for Athletes you promise to me more than just a participant in the classroom, hallways. weight room, or in the track, field or court. You promise to be a competitor, but to compete with respect for the game, refs, fans, teammates and your opponents. Compete the right way...without contempt for others.Â
The definition of Resiliency is: The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. The ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape.
On behalf of the Especially for Athletes program we want to thank you and congratulate you on a great 2018-2019 school year. Thank you for striving to live with your Eyes Up and for Doing the Work. Please plan to join us May 4th at Springville High School at Noon for an afternoon of food, prizes, games, inspirational speakers and athletes from around Utah and Idaho.
Please invite other members of E4A from your school and organize the best way to car pool together and represent your council and school. Here is a short video on what the Leadership Summit looks like.
There is no charge to attend, but E4A needs an idea of how many to expect for prizes and lunch. RSVP/Register by going here: https://especiallyforathletes.org/event/2019-especially-for-athletes-leadership-summit/

Suicide does not have one single cause. Certain factors like substance abuse and untreated depression can lead to higher risk of suicide just as having a robust social circle can help protect you from suicide. Read more about the warning signs, risk factors and protective factors of suicide.
